An inspiring organisational development consultant for Yorkshire and beyond

My story

Yorkshire born and bred, JCB Excavators sponsored my Manufacturing Engineering and Management degree at Loughborough University. After graduating with a first, I worked for JCB for 8 years. In the role of Manufacturing Engineer, I continuously improved assembly processes. As their group buyer, I sourced production components to the value of £8 million+ and saved them more than £1.2 million.

The role I enjoyed the most was implementing lean manufacturing, which targets minimising waste. Through delivering training, project management and improvement leadership, I saved the company £200,000. I was then the Head of Business Development for Grimsby Institute University Centre’s Scarborough campus, increasing commercial income growth 200% in one year.

Why I love being an organisational development consultant

With an inquisitive attitude and open mind, I thrive beyond my comfort zone. Absorbing new knowledge in unfamiliar environments by looking and listening allows me to recommend changes that last.

In 2015, I launched BStreamlined to offer both process and people development.

What I do

Increase quality, efficiency and effectiveness

Taking companies to the next level is always a challenge. As an engineer and process specialist, I focus on adding value, not simply cutting costs.
I do this through process definition, exploration and improvement and root cause analysis.

Create a more capable workforce

Delivering stronger, more robust processes is vital, but I also aim to hand over an upskilled, more confident team. A happier team is more efficient, so it makes good business sense. I do this through listening, guidance and encouragement.

Tailored, spontaneous action

An organisational development consultant has countless tools and techniques. I utilise and adapt them depending on what you need. This could be an impartial review to assess what’s working, what isn’t and what could be upgraded. Or training your workforce in how to carry out process mapping and improvements themselves.
