Business improvement consultant Yorkshire

Does your business deliver top quality products or services? Congratulations! But how do you continue to grow? As an experienced business improvement consultant, I can help.

Sharpened processes

What can be stabilised and what needs improving? How can that be achieved? I offer clear, concise, practical recommendations.

Stronger people

Boosting productivity is about doing change with people, not to them. I get to know your teams, build rapport and gain their trust. I work on building people’s confidence, gain insight and help them back on track.

Uncovering knowledge

Manuals and reports never give the full picture. By talking to everyone from apprentices to senior management, I tap into their experience.

Sharing insights

Do you hate sitting in a room listening to a presentation? Me too! I ‘teach as we go’, sharing the ideas and then guiding your team in how to apply them.

Scanning the horizon

Where do you start with research and development? I can investigate what’s happening in your sector, keeping you up to date with cutting-edge ideas in key areas and technology.

Unbiased, honest, flexible

A business improvement consultant comes with a neutral viewpoint and fresh eyes. Being outside your hierarchy, I can say what an employee wouldn’t and will tell it to you straight. Bring me in for a week or assign me for regular visits across a quarter.

A toolkit of business improvement skills

Here are just some of the lean manufacturing principles I use.

Waste Identification

Waste Identification highlights and drives out actions and activities that consume resources but create no value for the customer.

5S

5S quickly highlights problems allowing staff to focus on carrying out their role safely, to the correct level of quality and in the standard time.

Standardised Work

Standardised Work reduces variability and defines the method to deliver the right quality on time and at the correct cost.

Visual Control

Visual Control allows the status of a workplace or process to be understood quickly and easily by anyone. It also quickly highlights abnormalities.

Value Stream Mapping

Value Stream Mapping identifies and prioritises improvement activity to remove bottlenecks and unnecessary inventory, reduce delays and rejects and overcome miscommunication to benefit a whole process.

Problem Solving

Problem Solving identifies the true root cause allowing issues identified to be eliminated and re-occurrence to be prevented.

TPM

Total Productive Maintenance ensures equipment is available and always able to perform its required tasks to the level of quality required.

Data Analysis

Data Analysis highlights the biggest problems to tackle first and monitors the impact in quality, cost and delivery improvement.

QCO

Quick Changeover allows a process to switch from part A to part B in as little time as possible ensuring repeatable quality and improved process flow.
